At our Water Sciences, we specialize in the design and implementation of cutting-edge Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems for filtration and purification. RO utilizes a semipermeable membrane to separate two aqueous solutions of differing concentrations, allowing osmotic pressure to naturally drive the flow of solvent from the dilute solution to the more concentrated solution until equilibrium is achieved. However, by applying pressure greater than the osmotic pressure to the concentrate solution, the direction of solvent flow can be reversed, resulting in highly purified water. Our company specializes in advanced Water Softening Plants that employ strong acidic cation exchange resin in sodium form. Raw water flows upwards through the resin bed, where the calcium and magnesium ions that cause water hardness are replaced by non-hardness forming sodium ions. Once the resin has exchanged all of its sodium for calcium and magnesium ions, the ion exchange resin is regenerated. A solution of common salt, specifically Sodium Chloride, is passed through the resin bed with a brine ejector, and the softening plant is thoroughly rinsed with water to remove excess salt.
